Projects Transaction Controls start and end dates

A few years back, when we had to extend the date on a project, we would go into the project and change the end date in the “Trans Duration" on the project. We would then change the dates to match in the specific tasks that would have activity in them.

Until a few years back, that was all we had to change as far as dates go, but for a while now, we also have to go “Transaction Controls” and change the end date on all the Expenditure types, which there are quite a few of.

I was just wondering if this was an intended behavior or a link had been broken that would have changed the transaction controls dates for the project automatically when the Transaction duration dates were changed.
