How do I schedule an update to an asset in WebCenter Sites?

This question is about Webcenter Sites 12.2.1.3.

Our content creators want the ability to have an update to an asset occur at a specific date and time. I understand that start and end dates work to hide/display assets based on dates, but they want to be able to delay showing an update to an existing asset. Is there a way to accomplish this? Can a new version of an asset be set to publish at a specific date and time? Can I somehow code controllers to reference multiple versions of a single asset and select the correct version by start and end date?
