Each kit component substitution overwrites previous substitution

When a Kit Sales Order is entered, from JDE 9.1, users have the option to substitute components in the Kit Selection Screen.

I have an issue that a second substitution on a Kit order using the Kit Selection screen overwrites the first substitution or replacement done.

The following process is followed:

Kit Order is entered and saved

Substitution is performed using the Kit Selection Screen, and order is saved.

User re-enters the order and performs another substitution on a different item and saves the order

Result: BOM template added back onto the Sales Order, and only the last substitution is kept (previous substitution line canceled)
