Printing Payroll Checks from Home Printer

Due to COVID-19, many of our offices are closed but we still have to pay our employees. We currently have ee's who are not on direct deposit and require us to print a pay check using a printer from home. Our payroll manager will be responsible for printing the checks and will have the correct printer and MICR cartridge installed at his home office.   Has anyone performed this - including the setup?
