OSP service returned short

Short of writing an alert does anyone have a way of catching/highlighting the following?   A wip order with an OSP operation is created for 45 pieces. The supplier returns 44 pieces and considers the order complete. This wip job now remains open in the system with a balance of 1 that gets rescheduled in ASCP etc...

Any tips would be appreciated.
