Lock Record or Prevent Update to record in collection plan

We are using Oracle Quality collection plans to collect data as part of the mfg. process. Is there a way we can lock a record or prevent it from being updated after a certain field or column is filled and saved, just to avoid anyone touching that row in the collection plan. Please advise on ideas/suggestions on how to handle this scenario.
