PEGMBR-DATA array issue/question

We encountered the following error during a calc, and have not encountered this particular error before. Can someone please tell me what this array is used for, or what could cause this error? The employee who it's failing on hasn't had any absences, job changes, or time and labor changes in several years.

Internal array overflow occurred for array %1 defined in copybook %2 with a max array count of %3                                

       %1--> PEGMBR-DATA

       %2--> GPPUELIG

       %3-->       9000

   EMPLID--> XXXXXX
