Archivelogs require crosscheck in 19c?

Migrating a bunch of databases from 12c to 19c, as we do each I have started noticing that they have started stumbling over issues saying to run crosscheck.
None of the backup scrips in place have ever had crosscheck in them before, we do a 'backup archivlog not backed up 1 time', and delete to sysdate-1 (due to goldengate)

So the question is:
Has anyone else noticed a requirement, when upgrading to 19c, to always crosscheck archivelogs? Or does every just do it. I always kind of thought it was a best practice.

Sidenote:
In previous jobs I always did it as a matter of course; however, when I started at my current job, last year, there were already scripts in place and an attitude "ain't broke, don't fix" toward the "new guy"
