P1391 - Category Code Mapping_how to change

A business considers changing some of their existing Category Code Mapping (both BU to Equipment and Equipment to WO) and also adding some new.

For BU to Equipment category code mapping

Will the new mapping apply only to the equipment created going forward?

For Equipment to WO category code mapping

Will the new mapping apply only to the work orders created going forward?

What other implications (or issues) should be considered when changing existing category code mapping or when introducing the new one, and how to overcome them?
