Adding database host as managed host to 13c Cloud Control

Hi

While trying to add an host as managed host on our 13c Grid Control, we experienced an issue as illustrated below.

When we tried to add / discover the target using "Database Discovery" search criteria we got this error when testing the connection to the database

When we changed the listener machine name from xxxoravip.xxx.com to the hostname, it worked

Are we suppose to be able to connect to the listener using the vip hostname instead of the actual hostname? Is there any down side of using the hostname instead of the vip hostname here?

If we are only supposed to use the vip hostname then what is that we need to do to make this to work?
