Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.6 (Maipo)

ASM Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0

Currently two disks are defined in ASM

GRP PATH                           NAME            MOUNT_S Total Size (MB)      OS_MB

--- ------------------------------ --------------- ------- --------------- ----------

  1 /dev/sdg                       DGDB01_0000     CACHED        1,024,000    1024000

  2 /dev/sdh                       DGFR01_0000     CACHED        1,024,000    1024000

On our HP UX server we usually see the new disk as mount status CLOSED or as header status CANDIDATE.  On this LINUX server we do not see /dev/sdj from ASM.

An ls of the /dev/sd* disk shows that all disks have the same permissions:

brw-rw----. 1 grid asmadmin 8,  96 Apr 21 15:02 /dev/sdg

brw-rw----. 1 grid asmadmin 8, 112 Apr 21 15:02 /dev/sdh

Howdy, Stranger!
