Clarification on Hyperion EPM 11.2 Configuration Requirements - RCU

Hi! My team and I are currently going through the installation and configuration of Hyperion version 11.2. We have successfully gone through the installation steps but have reached some confusing upon beginning the configuration portion. We are looking for clarification on requirements on using the Repository Creation Utility (RCU) to configure DB schemas for Weblogic. My team has never had to use this utility in previous versions of Hyperion since we use SQL Server as our DB. Specifically, I'm looking for confirmation that using the RCU on a new Database is 100% REQUIRED when using SQL Server as the repository for 11.2 Hyperion components.
