MySQL database upgrade from 5.6 to 8.0

Hi Can anyone please provide official upgrade document for 5.6 to 8.0. I believe direct upgrade path is not available from 5.6 to 8.0, we have to go to 5.7 first before migrating to 8.0. correct ? Can you please provide required documents for this upgrade.
