HFM archiving strategies

After migrating HFM to FCCS, what are some recommended strategies for archiving HFM for data retention purposes? One of the driving factors of migrating to FCCS was to avoid having to upgrade hardware that runs the current instance of HFM. Continuing to upgrade HFM in a non-production capacity seems like a waste of resources. What are other companies doing to hold on to HFM data after migrating to FCCS?
