F4211 - SO18 Impact on PROV field

Hello,

Can you please advise what is the impact of F4211 - SO18 field update on PROV field or PROV field impact on SO18. I am aware of the fact that SO18 & PROV is updated to 1 when price is overriden.

Could you please let me know how and when these fields are updated and which other applications these field has impact.
