Equipment Lease - Lease Status

when amending the lease status on an equipment lease (holdover, month-to-month, terminated, signed, lease ordered) does this trigger any accounting in the background? we would like to rename one of the lease status (holdover) to 'Expired' and would like to confirm no accounting will subsequently occur.
