My database have a lot process Wxxx working

My DB has too many active Wxxx processes, 10 in total, which affects its performance at the disk level, generating a lot of User I / O contention, other productive BD's have 2 to 4 processes, because this DB has so many and what can I do? to limit your growth and in your current situation how can I lower your number to a more reasonable value
