How to associate component to multiple assets in same asset group?

I understand that EAM uses the standard BOM functionality for their "Asset BOMs" but how are we expected to associate one component to multiple assets that exist in the same asset group if the SN# is not sequential?  Screen shot explaining what we need is as follows:
