Multiple Clusters in Exadata Full Rack and IORM

Due to certain constraints, it was decided to install the new Exadata X8 Full Rack with two clusters configured, each of them hosting databases belonging to two completely independent projects.

This works fine until now, but some questions arise for which little or no documentation is available.

To what extent is there a technical dependency between those different clusters? OK, it is clear that they are sharing the storage and IB switches, but this is a common situation in the server world and nothing specific to Exadata. None of the RAC clusters is expected to be impacted if the Storage Cell Servers or IB switches are updated or patched to a new version, anyway.
