Time Entry Accounting Hierarchy

We are in JDE 9.2 doing time entry directly into the time entry grid.  We enter time as follows

1. Using a work order in the account number field.  Entered as \xxxxxx. and expect the account number to populate after hitting enter as the BU/Sub associated with the work order and the object as set in the AAI by pay code.  This works as expected

2.  Using an Equipment number entered in the Equipment Worked on field.  Expect the account number to populate after hitting enter as the BU associated with the equipment number and the Object as set in the AAI by pay code.  This DOES NOT work.  It populates the homeBU from the master and object from the AAI table.
