PO Number is Blank

For some reason, JDE did not save the PO number when the Po was generated from a requisition. Now PO number is blank, and it cannot be cancelled and every attempt to make a change generates a PO number that is the next number available but the blank PO number remains.

Can something be done using the P43025 change PO status or any other app?
