How to make a field in PO BWC read only or editable based on a condition

I am trying to make the Item Description field in PO line editable by personalizing the region. I can achieve this by doing OAF personalization. The Read Only value can be changed for this. However is it possible to do this based on a condition e.g. if I want to only make Item Description editable for a certain Item type, is it possible?
