How to disable/unimplement/uninstall Project Costing Module

Hi everyone,

There's been an unanswered question on the same topic, but since it is fairly old, I'm creating this one hoping it will get some traction. Has anyone ever attempted to disable/unimplement/uninstall project costing module after it's been in use for several years? What are some of the key learning points or considerations that needs to be evaluated in this process?
