Question on mobile physical inventory and multiple business units in the scan scope

Why is the scan scope limited to the Business Unit on the PI Occurrence Definition page?  The Business Unit criteria on the Enter Criteria page of the same PI Occurrence seems to be ignored while the other criteria does influence the scope of the scan created? Can we only perform a mobile physical inventory on one Business Unit at a time?
