Database Bundle Patch vs DB PSU

A 12.1.0.2 database has been currently patched with JAN 2020 DB Bundle Patch. We have been following the PSU patch path so far. To be consistent across all platforms, I wanted to rollback the bundle patch and apply the latest APR 2020 DB PSU. But, there are some server resources and downtime constraints to rollback the bundle patch. As a workaround, can I install a new 12.1.0.2 Oracle home and apply APR 2020 DB PSU and associate the database with the new home? If yes, does the "datapatch" automatically take care of rolling back the bundle patch and apply the latest DB PSU?
