Database Bundle Patch vs DB PSU

A 12.1.0.2 database has been currently patched with JAN 2020 DB Bundle Patch. We have been following PSU patch path so far. To be consistent across all platforms, I wanted to rollback bundle patch and apply the latest APR 2020 DB PSU. But, there are some server resources and downtime constraints to rollback the bundle patch. As a workaround, can I install new 12.1.0.2 Oracle home and apply APR PSU and associate the database with a new home? If yes, does the "datapatch" automatically take care of rolling back the bundle patch and apply latest DB PSU?
