19c - external table file handles never released - file system blocks

Hello,

we are trying to upgrade our Oracle Database from Version 12c to 19c. The database is running in an MS Azure hosted Windows Server 2016 Datacenter VM. There are plenty of Oracle external file locations hosted in an MS Azure Storage Account SMB File Share. When accessing files via external table SQL queries on the file share, file handles on the directory and the file itself are opened and never released again. The same applies for corresponding LOGFILES and BADFILES. Killing sessions doesn't help at all. This leads to reaching the maximum open handles per file limit of the file
