Is it possible to select a column from DB

Hello All,

We have a requirement that, need to run a dynamic select once we get the xml out of a report and condition it to get another column from a different table

similar to eg

XML extracts column_id and then condition like select column_name from table where column_id = <xml element Name> within the template?

Please Advice.
