Authenticating to LDAP without KTPASS or Password Filter

edited Jul 17, 2020 5:00AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 6 commentsAnswered

I am working on trying to set up Oracle DB user validation to validate against LDAP.  I have read of two approaches, but both of them (Kerberos and password-based) seem to require administrative access to the authentication server to either alter the service account and generate a keytab file or to install a password filter on the Active Directory server. The AD server administrators are unwilling to make those changes for me, primarily for bureaucratic reasons, but that is what it is.  Is there any method of setting up LDAP authentication with Oracle that does not require administrative changes on

Howdy, Stranger!
