Creating a counting event for an item that has multiple storage locations within an inventory busine

We are trying to create counting events for items that have multiple storage locations within an inventory business unit, but only the default location is creating on the event, not the alternate storage locations.  Is there a setup that we are missing when creating events, we want to count the item in all storage locations.
