Custom Table Trigger code during Upgrades and ESUs

Are custom changes to table triggers of a based JDE table such as F4211 preserved when applying updates or ESUs that contain that table or do they have to retrofitted after applying the ESU ?

I have the same question related to custom indexes as well.
