42W - Can fulfillment partially release lines without splitting the sales order line

Hello,

I am curious if fulfillment management can release lines without splitting the sales order line.

Example:

Create an order for 10 that goes to future commit.

Current quantity available it 7

Can I release the quantity without updating the sales order line to create 1.1?

I have turned off Updating the status in R4277703 and it still seems to split the line on the sales order. The functionality makes sense but I am curious if there is a way to partially commit inventory to a sales order from fulfillment without splitting the sales order.
