Can we have Assets with same Serial number which belong to Product Model/Family

Hi CAM Gurus,

I am having an Issue in Equipment Master Vs Asset Master application (P1701)

Based on Oracle document I was able to setup 2 different Equipment with same Serial Number with different Product Family / Model. System did allow me to setup the Equipment correctly (P1701)

EquipmentSerialProduct ModelProduct Family
10001ABC0123MODEL1FAMILY1
10002ABC0123MODEL2FAMILY2

However, when I try to go to Asset Master application (P1204) I am getting Duplicate Serial Number error.

Has anyone had an similar issue?

Is there any setup missing or any BUG?
