Is it possible to have Physical Standby on higher OS & GI version than Prod during OS & GI upgrades?

Planning to upgrade Grid Infra from 12.2 to 19c in Production environment. But the OS kernel version needs to be upgraded before GI upgrade as the current RHEL 7.4 doesn't support 19c.
So we are planning to upgrade OS & GI on physical standby first and then after a day or two, upgrade Prod OS and GI to match Physical Standby environment. Please suggest if the below plan is supported?

1. Current configuration
Prod & ADG OS version: RHEL 7.4
Prod & ADG GI version: 12.2
********************************
2. After OS upgrade on Standby to 7.7.
Prod OS version: RHEL 7.4 & GI version: 12.2
ADG OS version: RHEL 7.7 & GI version: 19c
********************************
3. After couple of days, OS upgrade on Prod to 7.7.
