Will oracle DB stop working at the end of the support?

Hi,

We have Family of Oracle Database Standard Edition 2 - Processor Perpetual, the support is due for renewal, with the current situation, if we do not renew the support, will the product stop working? e.g our databases stop working? Then if we wish to purchase support in a few months can this be done also?
