Are FMW/SOA cloning scripts similar to complete file system migration?

Hello Experts,

   I want to move a SOA cluster from one environment to another.

I know that there are some scripts from Oracle such as  copyBinary.sh,copyConfig.sh,extractMovePlan.sh etc for cloning a SOA environment from one environment to another.

However,i want to know how similar are these scripts similar in functionality to a user manually copying the complete  SOA file system(Appl binaries + Domain config) from working environment to new cloning environment?

While copy pasting the entire file system,if user handles the IP/host changes in the new system and makes sure the target OS version & packages are same as the source,
