Has anyone tried to uninstall Gold Image Agent and revert back to normal Agent Update

Our Enterprise has a mixed bag of some Gold Image Agent installs and some done by Agent Upgrade.  Does anyone know how to take a Gold Image Agent install and reverse it?  Oracle doesn't think there is an 'easy button' for this.  They have basically said, "this is not possible" - short of completely removing all agents manually from the server of course.
