How do I patch an Agent Gold Image?

I followed these steps to create and use a Agent Gold Image

  1. Patched ServerA agent with OEM R4 Update4
  2. Created AgentGold from ServerA agent
  3. Subscribed ServerB agent to AgentGold
  4. Manually kicked off "Update -> To Current Version" so that ServerB has the gold image

I have couple of questions:

  • For ServerB, do I always have to manually kick off the subscribed agents so that they are always up-to-date?  Or is there a way to automate this?
  • For ServerB, Is there a way to automate the cleanup of old agent, or do I have to manually kick it off too?
  • I need to now apply patches to plugins on the gold image.  Do I need to follow the same process specified above, by first patching an agent, creating a gold image etc., or is there a way to patch the AgentGold directly and use it?
