Buffer Cache Full DB Caching mode changing from FULL CACHING DISABLED to FULL CACHING ENABLED

Hi guys,

I'm running Oracle 12c release 12.1.0.2 on RHEL 7.8 (Maipo) x86_64

I have lately installed Oracle July 2020 PSU / OJVM patch.

During shutdown immediate the DB took unusual time to shutdown.

I then checked in another session the alert.log and saw the following message:

"Buffer Cache Full DB Caching mode changing from FULL CACHING DISABLED to FULL CACHING ENABLED"

It took the database instance an hour to complete the shutdown, which as I said very unusual knowing that this database is a test one having not a lot of data and no large query running prior to the shutdown command.

Howdy, Stranger!
