When is the job_Entry_Dt on ps_job updated?

We are currently working out rolling out Manager Self Service and have noticed an issues with some of the delivered functionality, for instance the job history on Employee Snapshot.    What I think is the issue is that in our ps_job rows the job_Entry_dt isn't always accurate.   For example we have an employee that was hired in 2010 and left in 2011.   They were rehired in 2018 for a different job, same department but all the job entry dates are set to the hire date in 2010.   

It seems like after the rehire they should at least be 2018 not 2010.    I have a number of different examples of this occurring with long term employees that have moved around jobs and/or departments.   Their job entry dates are not reflecting correctly when they enter that job or department.
