Another contract with this supplier, for the item on line 1, begins on the same date. (10400,48)

Hello-

There are situations when try to create for a supplier a new procurement contract with the same Begin Date and Item, but different Expire Date, the system returns the message

'Another contract with this supplier, for the item on line 1, begins on the same date. (10400,48)'. How can we avoid this message? Is it possible to modify in peoplecode instead of unchecking the Auto Default checkbox to stop preventing from saving the contract? This would help a lot! Thank you!
