Earliest Change Date Issue

We have an issue with new hires having the earliest change date being set to before the employee's hire date.  For example, an employee is hired on a Monday.  When the punch time sheet is pulled up it indicates the correct hire date and the days prior to that are not enabled (our work week starts on Saturday).  When time is entered on the hire Monday and saved, the earliest change date is changed to the Saturday before their hire date.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
