Is ECC Real time operation reporting Solution ?

Dear Team

We are in process of planning upgrade EBS from R12.1.3 to R12.2 and one of the important feature in R12.2 is ECC. I have given a read of lot of Oracle document around ECC. At lot of places document claims that ECC provide real time operation reporting. My queries are as under:-

1) Since data population in ECC schema happens by concurrent jobs through batch process then I believe data in ECC will be updated only when I run incremental load . Therefore it is not real time as we have got the real time reporting in Oracle cloud through Ess base cube. Is this correct statement to say that ECC is not real time or am I missing anything here ?
