How does your organization manage employee files?

Hello,

We are gradually moving as much as possible to Onboarding to get rid of scanned paper and PDFs, but we still have historical records and some records kept in scanned or saved documents. What are people using today for these kinds of employee file records? At a previous employer we had an imaging system that was integrated with PeopleSoft, but I can't recall what it was.  I want something that has some structure to it that will let us audit for what we are missing.
