Installing new em13cR3 agents for an em13cR4 OMS.

I have the need to install the em13cR3 agent for an em13cR4 OMS due to the agent operating system being incompatible with the em13R4 agent.  The documentation states this cannot be done.  Is there a work around?

I am migrating from em12cR4 to em13cR4, new hosts, new network, etc.  Upgrading from 12c to 13c is not an option.  As well, I cannot keep the 12c OMS around for much longer to manage these targets on the incompatible systems.
