IE support on 11.2

Hi MOSC experts,

I have below 2 questions and looking for help.

1. According to Oracle announcement, starting from 11.2.2.0.000, EPM system no longer supports Internet explorer.

Does it mean if we stayed at 11.2.1 version, oracle can still provide support to IE 11 until it finally EOS by Microsoft?

Or does it mean since 11.2.2 was released, Oracle stop support for IE no matter which version of EPM we're using?

2. In the future, will patching EPM system to newer version can only done by "Apply Update"?

Or, oracle still would release patch with code like "11.2.1.xxx" and the system will still be patched with Opatch utility?
