Restore my cold backup and downgrade from 19c to 12c

Hi All,

I just recently upgraded my database from 12.1.0.2 to 19c.  

I have  also performed a cold backup of my previous database version 12.1.0.2 before doing the upgrade. Now, my question is how can I go back to 12.1.0.2 version and also at the same time restore my cold backup? If I restore my cold backup using 12c home does it automatically goes back to 12c version? or should I still perform downgrade?
