Does the MSP XML Import to P6 feature to select an MSP Baseline to use as the Planned values work?

I've imported an MSP XML file into P6 (R18.8.18) multiple ways with the option selected to a Baseline from MSP as the Planned values.

I have tried:

1. Creating a new project and updating an existing one

2. Verifying that the project I updated was set so that it did not link Planned to At Completion

3. Switched from Baseline 0 to Baseline 1 and back

4. Imported with Professional and with EPPM

The Start and Finish dates always seem to match the Planned Start and Finish dates.

Am I mistaken in the fact that I should be able to change the Planned Start / Finish Dates on import?
