OEM13c - Scripting the discovery of GoldenGate targets

in Enterprise Manager Generic (MOSC) Question

First, let me mention I am not a Database Engineer, so please excuse if I've stated something not exactly right or if i've missed including necessary info, please let me know.   

I am trying to develop automation using EM CLI in script mode to do the manual steps of OEM 13C discovery, promotion, renaming of targets, and updating target properties. 

I started doing this for non-GoldenGate hosts and now am doing some additional work needed specific for GoldenGate. 

For GoldenGate, I'm having trouble with the discovery step.  

For Non-GoldenGate targets, I don't seem to even need to "discover", I see the targets when I run "get_targets(unmanaged=True)" shortly after
