Can Vertex Engine and EBTAX be configured in same Tax regime

Can we have tax engine (Vertex) configured for Receivables and Ebtax configure for AP and Purchasing modules?   From the setup perspective currently we configured Vertex for Order to cash Flow .   Pl. confirm is that possible in R12?
